  • Will brand ambassador affect your purchase?

For me, it will, if i don't like someone, i won't buy anything from the particular brand no matter how well design the product is, just don't want to get related with it.

Do you think appointing an ambassador a good idea for branding? IMHO, wasting money, better give more discount and use the money for R&D...

I recall this had been discussed here some time back. My vote is 'no'. Why should someone unrelated to me affect me anyway. He/she is paid to do it, right?

On the contrary, I have this to ask: What if someone related to you in some way, whom you detest, wears a watch that you have been dreaming of owning? Buy or no buy?

the ambassador's not gonna affect me, as it's purely a cash transaction/most lucrative endorsement for them (thinking about tiger woods and tudor...)

but if someone i dislike immensely were to wear a watch i desire... i might get turned off... but truth be told, i'll probably be more jealous than anything else!!!

I buy the brand cos I trust it & perhaps also of its heritage. I would never be influenced by a brand ambassador cos I think I am capable of making my own decision.

Not really affected. But my interest in some Omega pieces are fuelled by Mr Bond

No, it does not affect me.
If someone I don't like wears a particular watch brand, doesn't really affect me as well.

99% of the time... NO! But there are times that it might affect.

Just a lame example: I tried to avoid kate spade after the recent Singapore General Elections. (Even though she is not an official brand ambassador)

It is not the ambassador that I am buying, but the brand choose brand ambassadors based on their targeted market. I probably will try to avoid buying DRESS watches from a brand that has all the wrestlers, NBA stars or Rugby players as their ambassadors.
