wah, sound bad man. maybe u muz jio jio the boss to release more fishes liao.

ang kao, a rare sight? so jia lat ah? probably bcoz you guys are fishing the deeper waters as usually the shallower reef areas does produce ang kaos. no ang kao, ang chor oso can... curry fish head, thou i think mama angkoli is better.
the last time i bn to tioman was like 6 yrs ago...hee
my last dive was like almost 10 yrs ago, also at tioman

pro pond always affected by lousy water condition. the canal outside = fresh water. so only high tide they can manage to pump abit from the sea... but most of the time, main pond get the in coming water instead of pro pond. years of rubbish on the pro pond bed also affect loh... sometimes, chao chao

ang kao rare sight in sg water leh... even TP, heng heng 3 to 4 trips thn can see 1... unless travel abit further from TP. Scs ( horsburg or eastern bank area ) also very little, so far i hv not seen any in the last few years ... hahhaa.. but i think others might hv caught a couple here there.... so many CR/ trips, sure hve ppl catch 1s, sometimes a quite a few

last caught was in kk, last june, got 3 pcs
i post in soccer tok b4... hahhahaa

i think southern island seem to be more productive with ang kaos, and sentosa cove used to be an good place to catch them on land. probably the cleaner waters and reefs offer a better environment for their existence. turtles sighting in sentosa cove are very frequent, esp in the morning.

anyway, fishing is getting really tough nowadays. so got fish, go fight can liao.

i have not been to tioman since 2005 too, aur/dayang always seem to be the more convenient choice.

yeah man, there is tons of rubbish in the entire pasir ris pond man, plus the bait stealers too. the fishes does not seem as healthy as donkey years ago.

guess it all down to luck again. my last boat trip to msia, we got 5 ang kaos while bottom fishing near the reefs. havent been fishing much since then.

yupz, muz play hide-and-seek with the guards. 2 of my favourite spots was under the causeway linking to sentosa and sentosa cove, good place for luring.

          offshore at changi area?

i dive at aur b4, at the smaller island next to it... tht was wow, late 80s ...
only remember there's one stretch of sandy beach on the smaller island... wow .. super fine white sand.

anyway, tht's the place i see the biggest groupa of my life .. it was at least 1.5m long, i think should easily wt 100kg. damn big, damn scare to go near, and tht monster not scare to come near me... i chabot ... hahahaa....... but i dunno wht species, it was like some purplish in color

jst now prp rod checker call me at ard 12, say yesterday nite after rain, fish bite... today new fish come, also biting leh, told him cannot lah, going offshore tomorrow, need to zzz by 2+ am, to get a few hrs zz.... anyway, siow siow 1 lah, tht place, if good, good a few days thn die down again ( tokin abt late night session ).

oh, did wnt to those shops u mention in the afternoon... first time there, wnt to 3 shops, joe, sabre & another 1 forget name, but it was next to a watch AD ( sell ball watch also ). bought couple of jig & some artifical bait to try try tomorrow ... ...more or less abt the same lah... i think i am ok with regal at taman jurong .. i can get most items frm there and it's near.

so whn all can prpp again ?

also, as louis mention ... maybe can do a mini gathering at tmj pond.. nice place for tcss also... non fisho also can pop in too ...

not sure if we are talkin abt the same stretch of beach in aur, but there is a simple resort there call Alantis Bay. only complain abt aur is that you need to do transfer from resort to diving platform, cannot do shore dives.

that big monster is confirmed gone man! dun tink the locals/fisherman will let it survive so long. haha. the place is in quite a bad state from the last time i went there. but no choice, its one of the nearest and more affordable place for singaporean divers to breathe compressed air.

no prpp for me this week. tonite need to do OT to clear all my ****, so that i can have a peaceful wkend of diving. next time we play by your call man since you got intell...

next to AD ah, then muz be Hock Heng liao. there have some gloomis rods there. jigs and lures only ah... lucky you man... i was thinkin u might end up getting a reels or rods.

sadly, most tackle shops in SG carry almost about the same stuffs. guess SG juz doesnt have the market to support such thingy. there used to be a small tackle shop in concourse called tickle tackle. the boss always like to bring in stuffs from japan but they do cost more. still enjoy my shopping trip in japan, thou it was a short one. i think i "clean up" all the lures of a particular brand during my short 10mins stay.

tmj pond abit out of place for me, no convenient public transport to there i think

usually, these huge 1s hang ard the same area for ages...
i also wont let it off if i can fish 1 up.... down in the water, i chabot.

yesterday OS trip, out near horsburg, catch so so nia.. on the way back stop katong area for last min to target gpa... my frd caught this ( see pic )... after he up, i immediately up another, but nothing come close...

go jp n buy lure...alot alot... just jigs ( for sotong ), i think few hunderd types leow.

Hock Heng .. i thnk, so i wnt in and check price, the Gloomis i order = 320... hockseng price 458 ( i think ), but after discount 370.

G-Loomis got 2 different kind of rod in the market.

One is called factory built. That mean it is built in US with all the guide and reel-seat.

The other one is just blank. Then some sg fishing tackle shop will then use the blank to built it. Thus, the price might be abit higher. Cos some of the guide they use r more expensive and better wood cock and fuji reel seat.

So did u intend to get any g-loomis rod soon?
                            the 1 i order = factory rod
