i boh liu leow leh, just order a st croix fishing rod $300 ( for pond use ) & a daiwa saltiga 20 ( off shore ) ... pop already, i never spend so much on a pond rod b4 leh, all my pond rods ( i think got at least 10 pcs ), all ranging from $35 to $90 nia.

dear pet, u need good equipment for pond fishing too lah. i am using g-loomis rod and stella reel for pro pond. hehe.

nvr really believe in good pond rod( usually dont spend more thn $90 for pond rod, ave about $60/ rod; offshore 1s, yes, averaging about $300 )... hahhaa... very difficult to find 1 i really like, i prefer stiff 1s.. too flex dont like ( bckbone strong, tip dont flex too much ) .. hehee... ... reel, i usually use daiwa certate 2500 or caldia kix 2000; got biomaster 2000shimano ( dont like ).

If you like stiff and fast actions rods, then can look at Gloomis IMX or GLX. Both offer you such characteristics, light somemore. If you lazy to custom build, then can check out their off-the-shelf SpinJig(SJR) series, nice. St croix me not very familar, only got one old baitcaster.

I usually spend more on rods and baitcasters. Oh yes, quite a fair bit on plastics too. Don't really like to use spinning reels so mine mostly less than $100 small reels.

pet, come to fishing hor, u r just like me. i also like 'stiff' rod....hehe. that is why my g-loomis rod poundage is 12-20. it is overkill for pond fishing.

so when r u going to pro pond again?

Wah!! 12-20 ah, thats really an overkill wor. IMX/GLX? The fish sure no chance like that... Hee

Me using GLoomis 4-8lb (3pcs) or Sage 4-10lb (3pcs) for ponds now. Lazy to carry 1pc rods nowadays.
