will you pay premium for a watch (regular production model) ?

recently, notice that some sellers are pricing their watches (regular production models) above the Recommended Retail Price

in the past and current, rolex daytona is usually sold in authorized dealers at a premium price. however the premium price seems to be getting lower compared to say 5-10 years ago.

i would not pay premium for a watch if it is a regular production. several months after the launch date, the stock for the model will be readily available. sometimes, there will be a discount as well.

the question is - will you pay more for the watch?

if yes

because of the brand (rolex)?

because of model (daytona)?

any other reasons
