Use microwave wrap but make sure contents are all dry inside. Good as new years later...

I just put them in my clothes closet. I do the same with my cameras boxes and the boxes are ok after 2 - 3 years of storage.

Becos its made of synthetic material which breaks down after some years.
Same thing happened to my Omega box, Omega, warranty card holder.

Nothing wrong with my 20-30yr old Rolex boxes.
                  They are all real leather.

Since the 90s Rolex changed to plastic box which has interior edges lined with synthetic material.
These boxes suck. They stick together and the material peels when you open the box after a long time.

On the flaky boxes, You cant quite prevent it, unfortunately.
If the material is synthetic, its matter of time.

I kept the boxes in my storage bed and no issues found after few years.

I use small packets silica beads, usually stored with Thirsty-Hippo dehumidifier. Occasionally also toss in some Japanese brand anti-mould moth balls (super strong smell, steer clear of inhaling it....)

Question: when the boxes or lining, or papers get spotty, how do you guys deal with it? Just wipe it, is that enough??
