      things to share and feel free to share yours, abit lou sou below but hopefully good for new member to catch some tips here

      all the while in the past, just a seiko and never thought of watch hobby

      Value
      ==

      everyone knows car depreciate but some watches brand acceptable, we may lost some but we can treat it as rental, not like car like 5-10k per year. omg, a sub or daytona per year, lol

      Condition
      ==

      Paper? naturally if has paper is better, that come with price too. if you want to wear, got paper or no paper no different, we wear a watch not paper. But again, a watch may have a paper but condition maybe not as good as no paper

      Polished? bracelet, case, dial. used means cheaper, also mean many owner wear before, he may play golf swing with rolex, he may swim, even car will wear and tear, if you buying a very expensive watch, dont save some money by open case to check lah, by checking authentic, can also check water tight? movement any dirk or dial recon or not if you want to keep for long...if reasonable priced watch, then ok lor, is a used watch ma, if particular on condition, buy a new one no headache lor

      Year? collectable? buy what you need or what you like, not people say, internet say, how long you wana keep the watch? keep for what? to see or to wear?

      Brands
      ==

      Check watch history and try to understand before buy dont impulse buy. valjoux movement? eta movement? in house movement? you will be surprised after google, some brands sharing same movement. So, you buy the movement? the brand? or see their advertisement?

      Alternative
      ==

      Buy the seller? ebay? exchange rate? airport tax? oversea tax cheaper? buying oversea internet? sgroc and many good dealers are here, at least you can see n touch the real watch, buy here better lah and make friends too, also can resell back to dealers as cant sell back to oversea ma

      Functions
      ==
      3 hands? chrono? stop watch? moonphase? tourbillon? dive 3000m? again, buy what you like, complicate watch...umm, if need service. oh oh....

      sgroc is a good forum, get to learn many here, know many good friends too. hope above info is useful and moderator feel free to amend if needed, just sharing as sold all my watches already back to my seiko stage 1 again

        OMG...!!!

        Sounds similar and familiar...I had a friend whom I made through this watch hobby as well...we deal quite often and became very good friends...once he told me he need to quickly load off much of his watches as his dad was hospitalised, soon after his dad passed away, I was shocked when he told me he was hospitalised as well due to leukemia!

        Me and my Wife (gf back then) went to visit him. That was the last time we saw him. We thought he was going to be ok. When I contacted him couple months later, his Wife said he just passed away and that the wake will be held the very next day after that phone call.
