Bro Lau, I older than you little bit. so, don't cry, don't cry.

Bro RTS, I have used these coins when I was young and I don't feel they are old enough, so I did't keep them. I think 1967 is the oldest, 1966 and earlier one has the Queen's face on it, if I remember correctly.

I do have feeling and kept some of the older one like those square 1 cent coin. On one face it says "Commissioners of Currency Malaya", the other is "George VI" "King" "Emperor" and the face of British King George The Sixth. The oldest one I have is year 1939.

Late liao, lazy to go and take photo. If got request will take photo tomorrow.

banana money i also have, not just one or two pieces, but whole stacks

if you know your history well, you would know that it was the west who turned formosa (taiwan) into a base, it only fell into the japanese hands after the first sino japanese war, however, japan still manage to occupy for another 50odd years, until about WWII.
It is therefore safe to say that japanese culture has been embedded into the taiwanese; just like british culture has affected a major part of s'pore.

Some square 1 cent coins, the 1 $ coins with lion image and some 5 cents coins. I have some 'tong ban' (round shape with square hole in the centre), but bough from HK tourist souvenir store, I think is replica, not worth putting in the pic.

same mistake as the nazi's did. overprint the currency, exhaust their reserves, and have nothing to back their currency with. or as modern day example: zimbabwe
