Watch shopping in Indonesia

I read this in an Indonesian watch magazine so I thought I would share it. Here are a list of places you can go to look for used/vintage watches in Jakarta:

1) Pasar Senen
2) Batu Tulis
3) Batu Lepar
4) Batu Baru
5) ITC Kuningan (look for Solid Watch)
6) Plaza Melawai (Interwatch)

Other cities which have watch shops: Malang, Surabaya, Yogjakarta, Medan.

orient indonesia give fantastic discount.
better then spore, hk or even japan.

i dont know how he do it...but its for real.

order time takes quite some times though 4-6 weeks.

i just got Orient star 300 for 50 percent off from listing price.

Understand Indonesia used to manufacture Seiko watches too. That's the reason why its possible to get it cheaper there.

Time Place to be exact. THey AD. Indonesians buy from there as they have constant deals with Banks to give interest free for 6 mths...

Batu Tulis is Ok for general watches n look see look see, but if u are looking at quality n branded, come back Singapore better lah...

well it depends on which watch you;re looking for. I believe Rolex is cheaper in Indonesia. but make sure you know the seller.

Hi guys i was there a few mths back. For the ADs over there, the price is really much more expensive. i went into the Omega boutique over there and was really surprised at what the the discounted price was quoted. SG omega is definitely cheaper by hmmm x a factor.

Why would you go there to shop for major high end watch brands? Taxes are comparatively high over there and from my understanding you can't get back the 10% PPn (like GST?). The dealer will also have to bear high luxury tax -> you have to pay for this. If you buy from AD, I think authenticity is not a problem.

A lot of Indonesians patronise HK/Singapore instead to get their luxury watches.

Dont buy at batu tulis quality not guaranted. buy at Jakarta AD.

I checked and compared the price of rolex before between singapore and jakarta. It is about the same even after gst refund.

jakarta AD smart already, their price is almost equal with singapore after gst refund.
