I think buying gold bar as an investment is only feasible if there are opportunities for an appreciation in the value of gold. Otherwise, the justification to invest in it might not be valid.

If you're thinking of investing in gold bars through schemes, be careful.

If you're thinking of buying actual gold bars, you need to buy from tax-free countries to make it worthwhile. Gold prices don't rise 7% overnight, but when you buy from Singapore shops, immediately you lose 7%.

Then how to bring back to singapore? Even at customs I think they will tax u.

Heard peo say collecting gold bars is better than putting $$ in the bank, dunno how true leh....

IMO the GOLD Rush that i have been looking forward to just started.

This run will last the next 2 to 3 years.

Hang on to anything to you have that is gold.

I bought some gold contracts and will continue to buy in small lots on pull backs and ride this out.

Better than stocks that can go to ZERO or suspended by SGX due to irregularities.

With the world economies falling apart, corruption, terrorism, fraud, wars and the some countries desperately printing money to pay for their insane debts, currencies of many countries falling ...investors will convert their monies into Gold.
