with reference to this thread about a local being scammed and recently receiving a pm from fb member who wanted to buy a watch from a member in facebook group, i like to share some pointers
i do not like to buy watches from members in a facebook group.
in this forum, a potential buyer can click on the seller's nick and view seller's profile's feedback score. once transaction is completed, i strongly suggest that both buyer and seller to give one another feedback so that other potential buyer or seller can see and have added confidence in dealing with you in future.
furthermore in facebook group, there is a risk that the seller post non original profile. as a buyer how can you find out more about a seller's credibility?
for overseas transaction, i do not transfer to western union account or its similar type of account. i prefer to use paypal whenever possible. though it will incur a fee, this fee allows some form of re-course if the deal turns sour.

- it is hard to locate a watch because i can scroll down indefinitely and not find one
- there is no reference check on the seller who wants to sell the watch.
