I wouldn't do any huge amount transaction on eBay. Too risky, I would probably fly over and buy.

If the price of the watch is too high, better to buy it locally from an AD.

I have bought watches from ebay a couple of times. I would say that there are hits and misses. Most of the times, you would need to do alot of homework, to check for tell tale signs if the watch is fake or less than desirable. Another aspect you need to consider is the reputation of the seller. If the seller is not helpful even during the presale, you can only wonder post sale communication. Hope this helps!
