Whether Swiss franc up / down. Swiss watch companys usually adjust their price upward during SIHH/BASELWORLD period. The thumb of rule in buying is buy now and dun wait... But laterly Tag is make good looking auto watch under $3k. Guess other might follow suit to intro affordable entry luxuary watch to gain more market share.

at least $3k loss over just 3 weeks

I think those people will not care too much if the price drops a little, owning the watch is far more important. Considering that we have a similar situation with cars, we are also exposed to such price fluctuations. Moreover, it is not like as if many people will buy their watches from local ADs. Our bargain seeking kiasu locals will simply buy them at far lower prices in other countries when they are on their regular holidays.

Brather Brather Brather, ppl dun buy PP just to sell over night. They keep for their next generation! Hahaha. So short term drop not going to affect them at all. Or even other Swiss watch brand. Just recall 2007-2009 also not much price hike.. And all those big Swiss company just stop making those complicated watch like MR, tourbillon, PC and etc but focus back on simple watch that ppl will be willing to pay. This may be just another episode from the past. Ppl should be more worry if smartwatch would start the craze like in the 60s-80s Swiss watch quartz crisis where many mechanical watch companies go burst... By them a lot of us here would really bang our head as not only the watch become priceless but we also find it hard to repair it if something happen.

Dun need to take the pp commercial lah, it was jus used so as to get the message across that most ppl dun flip watches like some ppl here. You should check out PP international auction record. Pp one of the strongest independent brand around with Rolex. They most likely cut their price to attract more buyer lah. If not we can away wait to see if their popularity drop just because they reduce their price. By the way, almost all watch have discount ( ranging from 20-30% of MSRP in the pass and now most limit to 20% and less ). So it just different ball game they play now. Some time reading much and dun analyses also a problem with the connected world...
