anyone into portable audio...

thinking of buying a DAC... probably a fiio... and perhaps replacing my very old amp if the price is right...



any fellow forum members that have experience with fiio? any recommendations welcomed.

i listen to rock and classical music mostly. i don't go to head-fi anymore after being banned many years ago...

I sold FiiO before, and I can tell you that the value for money is there. But if you're willing to splurge a little more, get the iBasso DX50 or DX90. They really sound better.

FiiO has very sibilant highs for my taste. So classical and rock may be a no-no.

You don't need an amp if you're into portable audio unless you're super audiophile. A DAC is enough.
