looking forward to (buy and) try Glenmorangie, Kavalan, Mark's maker (my dad said it tastes similar to jack d) and Yamazaki
For a blended, I must say Ballantines are rather light and easy to drink. You should try Balvenie or Glenlivet too if you like the lighter smoother type.

Was bored and decided to do a "serious" tastings of 3 opened whiskies in my collection - the JW Blue label, the Glenlivet Guardian Chapter LE and Ballantine 21 Yr. I like all of them and usually drink on rocks. This time, tasting neat from whisky glass...

Johnnie Walker Blue Label - Distinct cedar wood nose, light spices and honey. On palate, the legendary smoothness that is balanced with malt, chocolate and oak. Finishing is nice and long, not overpowering. Remind myself that I must always drink this neat! It's really great on its own without water or ice.

Glenlivet Guardian Chapter - this is one of my current favorites but unfortunately limited. Nose is different from the Blue label, more raisins and stronger spices. Compared to the blue label, the palate is fuller and harsher, like a burst of malt and orange spices. Finishing is super long. Should be more toned down with some ice.

Ballantine 21 Yr - Have always though this to be a light and easy blend. Nose was surprising woody and not much hints of malt or spices. The palate was light, almost silky with barley and tones of oak and very mild spices. This is certainly one of the ligher whisky that deserves to be drank alone. Finishing was quite short. Not meant for those who like a smokey taste.

              Enjoy!

Louis X111...beautifully smooth and mouth of raisins and apricots. I don't normally drink Cognac but this is one drink that I won't refuse. Just had the rare privilege of a few glasses last week. Yummy!!

Hey Whisky lovers...anyone had anything nice recently? Recently found out that the Glenmorangie Signet is selling both on KrisShop as well as DFS...but it's cheaper on the plane. Bought one and though a little pricy (around $206), I must the box is really well made and based on my earlier tasting, should be a keeper. Tried the Oban 14 yrs recently - nice but not really special or unique.

Has anyone tried the full range of the JW Explorer Club series? The Spices, Gold and Royal Route. Seems like a marketing effort but haven't had the chance to taste it. Any feedback?
