LV? Mont Blanc?...whose money? $60 000 loan? whose money?

Never believe in those 1900-XXXXXX, per call $5, $10, etc. Wanna do good deeds? Go spend some time, volunteer work in orphanges and old folks home. Those people there will be more than happy to have your company.

What is the point in you donating all those $ and don't know how they going to spend it? you pay for their Merc? you pay for their LV and Mont Blanc? Go figure it out.

Monks?...pls lah...even if want to spend also do it discreetly...be a bit humble and don't need to be so flashy. You'll never catch our Ministers, MM, or any high profile person on shopping spree in LV or paragon. At least they know how to get others to do it for them.

    No offence to anyone...my 0.05cents.

    Cheers!

      Same thinking too...

Moral, social norms are something that make up the society too.

I have become more skeptical on these organisation since NKF times. Now, I choose carefully. I derive more assurance buying a bag of rice/food and giving it to a needy person than putting $10 to an organisation.

Back to the topic, I personally find him no wrong for having 9 credit cards. So what if he spent on LV and Montblanc? BTW, I have never see a Monk carrying a LV bag before.....

Yes of course I understand. I respect those leaders and their contribution.

What I meant is they will not go spend what it not theirs...especially money from donation....hard earn money that donated by folks who trusted those charity oganization.

That I strongly agreed with you!!! Donation money can't be used that way.

On the other hand, his salary is from the donation money and since he is paid with a high salary, I find that there is nothing wrong using his own money to buy LV, montblanc, etc.... there are many religious leaders in the world who travel in private jets, stay in 6 stars hotel, travel in bullet-proof cars....

Ever since the NKF issue , i stop all me and my wife monthly contribution to NKF and other organization .
Felt very stupid for a moment .
Now we go to my great grand aunty old folks home every Chinese new year to give ang pows to the old folks with my family , my son and daughter even sing and dance for them .
I think it makes me feel much more happy , because i know the money although not much ,they recieve from my Ang Pows , goes to them 100% .
I really feel i've done something good .
Told my sons next time when he grow up , if he have the means he should do what i'm doing instead of bringing those donation cards back from school and ask me to donate , i mean i still donate those cards brought back by him , but no more than $10 .
Last year is the 1st time we did this , and i hope i'm able to do it every single year . Finally understand the true meaning of “施比受更有福” .

Those who wants to help others.....let me introduce.

We have a heroine in Teresa Hsu who at 110 years old still helping others.

Visit her website....www.heart-to-heart.org.sg Sorry wrong webby. Will need to google to find again. Memory failing. Her place is at Hougang, near Lorong Ah Soo

You can bring food items and she and her helpers will redistribute these stuff to needy old folks living in Chinatown area. No monetary donation required. This is the kind of charity that has no big show but truely help others.

Help our own people who need help is better than donating money to organisations whom you have no idea what they are using your money for. Worst is give to foreign lady who use it to built new house.

AS e old saying adage goes -

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
                                "夫君子之行:静以修身,俭以养德;非淡泊无以明志,非宁静无以致远。" - 诸葛亮

One should seek serenity to cultivate the body, thriftiness to cultivate the morals. Seeking fame and wealth will not lead to noble ideal. Only by seeking serenity will one reach far. - Zhugeliang
