pardon me for ignorance, though singapore is known for using many abbreviations. i saw the thread and it did state FCFS in a single line and not many people may not know what it means. i would have preferred it stated in full so as not to cause any misunderstanding.

the idea of placing a small deposit is a feasible idea. location of both parties maybe a hindrance as both in different countries.

this is why i prefer not to buy watches from overseas because there are too many factors to consider and risks to take.

If no deposit, then you probably have no claim at all. Can't expect whole world to wait for you at their expense, assuming you consider yourself a gentleman.

I call this llyyhh 2 times. First time, I nego with him then we both agree to settle the deal @$ 3,800 without box. Second time, I make an appointment with him to do the purchase at Bencoolen building @1:30pm on Friday. He never told me that watch is hold. So I bought my air ticket then come down. Then watch sold before we meet. This is very very BAD.

I recently got a buyer for my watch from Thailand. From sms i can sense his sincerity, decided to reserve for him even tho i dunno him nor do i noe is it a spam. After putting the watch on reserve i received many local buyers to override the deal but then a promise is a promise. The nice gentlemen came , we met and deal the watch. Both are happy.

Sometimes we need to have better communications to reach an agreement 1st prior meet ups, maybe the above 2 parties rolexking9 n llyyhh hv misinterpretations n communications tat causes the misunderstandings.

I can feel rolexking for his disappointment of all the way here and i can feel llyyhh for his worries if buyer flyplane did not turn up.

Based on the above statement from individual parties, im on the neutral side. Why not print screen the text between both parties and post it down here and let the people to judge.

I agree with Triton, not many ppl know the item: FCFS. Just like ERP, some ppl might think that this is "Everyday Rob ppl" but this is a joke.
So Mod, Pls close thread. Let bygones be bygones. Cheers,
                  Have a nice day, everybody.

                    To Rolexking9

I refer to this post http://www.sgrolexclub.com/threads/1...al-with-llyyhh and would like to clarify the whole transaction with Rolexking9 again here.
1.The deal/price was not confirmed vocally on phone.
2.He wanted to inspect the watch 1st.
3.No reservation (from him) was made for the watch.
4.He said he coming to S'pore for business trip at Bencoolen area thus he could view my watch at the same time.IS NOT WHAT HE EMPHASIZE 'BOUGHT TICKET TO FLY DOWN S'PORE' He claimed he is a second hand watch dealer who supply watches to shops at Bencoolen area and he also offer me watches.Since he is 'ON THE WAY' viewing my watch,he has nothing to loose.

All the communications were made over phone calls so I couldn't provide any evident to support my statement.

We agree to deal @$ 3,800 without box. Right? Of course, I've to inspect the watch, I won't pay a fade Rolex for $ 3,800. We also agree to meet at Bencoolen building by 1:30pm.

if buyer paid the air fare for the only purpose to view and buy the watch, seller has obligation to pay back the air fare; but according to seller the airfare is paid for buyer's own business trip purpose and viewing of watch is at this convenience, hence seller does not owe buyer the air fare. if buyer placed a deposit to form a legally-binding contract to buy prior to viewing, then seller has the legal obligation to sell a similar watch at the same agreed price

but now this case sound more like a miscommunication rather than a contract:
                        1. buyer thought seller would reserve for him to view at his convenience, but he based on verbal agreement by seller, and did not put a deposit to confirm this intention;
                        2. seller thought buyer just wanted to view watch only snd since buyer did not put any deposit to confirm his intention to form a legally binding contract, seller did not made reservation for buyer. but if seller had verbally agreed to make a reservation for buyer to view, then it is moral obligation rather than legal obligation that seller should let buyer view first, before selling to another buyer

learning point : good to put this statement in your ad to clarify - "reservation only with non-refundable deposit, otherwise first come first serve"

The main point is you did not lose anything in this case (you don't fly to S'pore Bencoolen particularly for my watch). You lie in this forum just to slander me and to gain sympathy.
I would not cancel the appointment with you if you did not tell me you are 'ON THE WAY' viewing my watch.
                          For Your Info I sold a Rolex 16613 to a Malaysia buyer on 30th March 2014 http://www.sgrolexclub.com/threads/1...ht=#post894505
This oversea buyer COMMITTED to buy my watch and I reserve for him for almost 3 weeks(I did not state FCFS in my Ad).
I am no good in key board war so let me conclude in few Chinese words-
                          清者自清,浊者自浊.

Not to be seen as taking any one side (I don't know either party personally), but it does appear to me that Rolexking seems to be twisting the circumstances due to the bitter taste of missing out on a good deal. In his very first post he states:

This line makes it appear he flew to SG solely to purchase this watch, a fact which the seller has disputed, and which Rolexking has not outrightly denied.

                            Rolexking also stated:
Originally posted by RolexKing9 View Post

Sounds like a sob story to me and he is looking to destroy the reputation of llyyhh as a trader in this forum. Rolexking as a second hand dealer, surely would be able to source for another watch for his good friend. The good friend how old - no watch upset kick a big fuss? Grow up.

So Rolexking knows what FCFS means then? As a second hand watch trader with previous dealings, surely he must know what it means? Even if you don't know, surely you would try to find out if you are serious enough to fly all the way to SG to deal?

Er bro. You stupid? Never request seller to hold the watch for you then buy ticket and come down anyway? First time trading? You know what is very very BAD? You trying to destroy someone else's reputation because of your soreness.

You, kind sir, are very very BAD.

Er...not taking sides here, but my sympathy is with the seller. I have had very good experience with bros who keep on hold their watches while I was on my way back to Singapore. Of course I always told sellers to just let me know if they sold their watches!
