the only time i have put my name on a printed document was because the seller initiated. in the document, he put down his name and NRIC and i also put down the same. he even let me check that the name and NRIC matched on the document.

he did it because he collected a deposit from me to prevent me from flaking out on the deal. in the document, it also clearly stated when is the estimated delivery date. failure which the deposit would be return.

I was not referring to you at all. I am just sharing my own preferences. I would buy, pay then head to a shop to get it serviced. Of course it depends on your own level of comfort. Definitely not expecting the seller to open it at all.

Never happened to me but there was a seller that did offer me to take a copy of his ic i declined tho. Dun see a need cos even with that paper, what can thr mata really do if it turns out to b a fake?

Anyway, i too will not deal if someone wants a copy of my ic. If they are that worried, i will jus insist that it get authenticated at the service centres. Else, i jus look for another buyer.

You may not be aware . It is under law when you sell to preowned shop . They have to copy your NRIC details .
Regarding your topic, if you uncomfortable with giving your Nric details, you may walk out of the deals.

On my cases, its dealing over at the other party's place and I still have to provide mine.

Even selling to pre owned shops, they never had my IC copied, just details. Not sure if its even necessary to begin with.

              Thanks for your input Kel.

So far in this crazy hobby, I have sold only 3 pieces to 2 different retail shop dealers way way back then.

One of which is a dealer whom I befriend via the back-then singapore yahoo auction and sold him 2 pieces on separate occasion over at his shop and he didn't even request for my IC yet still he issued me receipts.

And one I sold to another dealer, again whom I befriend, who co-share a shop and he did took my IC to wrote down my particulars on the shop receipt book but nope, no photocopy either.

After these two experiences with dealers, I decided its better to sell the watches myself. So lately nope, I have not been trying to sell any of my pieces through retail shop dealers.

Yes I understand it is required that you have to give your IC when you try to sell something to them just incase the item you are selling might be a stolen item etc. etc. like a pawn shop for example.

                    Cheers.

I recently sold a rolex to a friendly buyer who insisted on taking a photo of my IC... I wasn't comfortable with that, so I offered to meet at RSC or any other reputable watch maker for verification on the spot... The buyer declined which got me slightly worried....

We eventually dealt by me showing him my ic and letting him copy down all particulars...

Call me old school, but I am not exactly comfortable with a stranger holding a copy of my nric...

Oh yes sir. iTrader is about positive & negative feedback Score. What I meant if sellers have iTrader positive point, so that's sellers "confirm" can trust, no need sellers particular. I don't mean "MEGA" information from sellers, simple will do. How can I not understand what iTrader, I do understood but the issues now at this thread, I not agree If sellers iTrader point positive, buyers don't have a right to take down sellers simple particular information. Singapore democracy, agree to disagree, all have a right to share own point of view, can be right can be wrong, as long we don't scam or curse family name like Hiroki. I hope bro mod be more professional instead of resentment, please give me new way, I Hope my son name will not mention, you already banned, Hiroki history does not exist anymore. clocking is clocking, new ways new point of views, remain steady avoid trouble. Thanks mod!..

Just I sharing my experience. I had a hard time to sell my DSSD with my asking price, low offer is always around, nothing wrong with low offer rather than no offer. The low offer yeah easy to get it sold, the problem not about the low price, is about buyer dragging me to RSC. Out of lucky day, one member offer almost with my asking price, haha not up to my asking price, was alright not bad at all. So we met, he checked the DSSD, not fussy nice bro. On the sport asked my "acc no" transfer what my asking price, the only issue he need me sign one proper "receipt". At first sound weird, I took a closed looked, I don't think so, cuz "receipt" don't mention my add, only simple statement, he bought from me and not stolen items cuz my ID no. What make me say the best deal, he paid almost my asking price, he not dragging me to RSC, and he bought second watch pam 425 after a week, without sign any "receipt" with my asking price.

ID OR IC no issues, if buyers need a copy or snapshot, only front part not back, cuz to protect your privacy like your ADD. The best a copy not snapshot, your ID and buyer ID, copy side by side, sellers please for your own safety state what you sell model and price, this way buyer can't play you out or abuse. keep one copy seller and buyer sing, remember this not warranty certificate, just clarify not fake not stolen, that's all.

Hey sellers not easy to get best deal, sometime you need to give ppl time to trust. Get it sold or get it old haha.

Positive ratings don't mean good sellers, no ratings don't mean bad sellers. I deal with sellers with no Positive ratings, I transfer cash 3 to 5 days I received the used strap with thanks. I deal with Positive ratings member, I transfer cash end up I got scam no joke, waiting for my used strap to add on my sales, very sad text him don't reply.
