What is Singapore like in 1938??

Hi All

Saw a documentary, tot of sharing, it shows wat is Singapore like in 1938.

The creator of the filmlet, Andre De la Varre, was a cameraman and cinematographer who created a series of travel documentaries in the 1930s.

Mr Lee was 15 yrs old then. There are some familiar landmarks inside, like e Hindu Temple at Chinatown, Old Supreme Court building and e Raffles Hotel.

Personally... i feel SG has changed too much.... in fact... till the point where i dun feel at home here... Look over your left and right shoulder and u'll see FTs everywhere...

We need not look far for this simple question, just look around us, our neighbour countrys, current problem in other countrys....

Yes FT all around us, but hey... they are doing the ****s while we sitting here and enjoy a chat on the internet.

I love doing my NS and still miss the days of reservist.....NSRCC provide me a decent place for me and my family to play.

What we gone thru....it tough and at times ,,unmentionble....But everyone got a room over their heads, those jobless..it won't be long before you will get a job. It may not be the job you want, but it a start.

You walk late at night on the streets and chances is you damn Unlucky you got rob !

Bros and sisters, we are in a beautiful country, the government cannot please everyone, but it Will Do It VERY BEST !

Looking at the 1938 picture, it nothing but if you were to live thru it than it a nightmare bro, under the Fish and Chips Empire, Where got respect to the Chinese, Indian and Malays....

We Are In A Beautiful Place, It Under our Nose, We just need to look and we will find it !
