Agreed. If all else is fine. At worse the deal turn from good deal to normal deal with extra hassle.

Nevertheless, it's still a bad transaction.

Like what bro Taxico mentioned, $600 is quite a hefty amount. Maybe another place can quote you a better price for servicing. Still, even if you paid $600 for servicing, it is still a rather reasonable price for a Pam112 at a total of $5200, assuming that you paid $4600 for it.

        Hi all,

FYI, $4600 for a J series pam 112 is only a reasonable deal. Not a good and cheap deal. I had owned a pam 112N series and sold it for only 5k. This is a J series.

I paid $600 for doing servicing, stem (shop owner suspect the stem broke off), full polishing, waterproofing and might replace gasket.
I know $600 is very expensive. But this is a reputable shop and I can't afford to walk around to look for cheaper alternative because I'm so worry that the movement might rust if not rectify asap.
Some friends advise me to to bring it to J* but the waiting time is about 4 months! I dun mind paying additional $100 for a 1 week service.

Seller is not gonna bear any servicing fees. He mentioned that this is a old watch, he had sold it to me cheaply and if it's required any servicing, I am the one who need to bring it in. If he were to service it, he won't sell it at that price. I believed he already know this watch had got some issue and quickly toss it in the market.

He actually put his face as the profile picture in his whatsapp and remove it after I had confront him regarding this issue. But I managed to get a photo of him in his wechat.

again, $4600 for a J series 112 is only fair. Not very very cheap.

$5,200 for a fully serviced and water proofed luxury watch - i urge you accept this as a lesson learned and move on, seeing that you've already paid for service.

              that's the price for a 111
price diff between used 111 and 112 is about $500 so i guessed victim lost the $600 service fee to the seller
              cunning
              Hahaha. U r right bro. Ai mai? After servicing I sell u.. U name a price. U know I bought 4.6k and service for 600. U name a price.

Agreed the price difference for a 111 and 112. But I won't buy a 111. Because of the sub sec hand. I like panerai as simple as possible. Just my opinion.

Yes bro taxico. I will move on but will post all his details here for awareness.

$5.2k for a luxury watch is good but not a J series 112. I still remember I bought my 112N for only $5150.

Sorry to hear your loss here... as you ahve said if the buyer does not hold hsi and of the bargin you should post his details to warn others.

However one lesson here for everyone dealing with second hand watch is to pay that verification fee or go do verification. It helps alot and reduces such incidents.

                  Cheers

watch not authentic? verification is to authenticate by qualified professional if the watch is authentic or not. Broken stem could have been due to over winding no?

Just test the watch next time before passing the cash to the seller
If the seller is reluctant for you to test or demo himself, then walk away from the deal.
