hey guys,

just want to check how many months do private/independent watch repairers give (the likes of **/B------/T-- H---)? what's the estimate cost to service a ladies rolex?

I kind of recall Rolex service centre is charging probably $900 now and for 2 years warranty yes?

I serviced my rolex with ** for $460 but repair time took 6 months

it is general servicing without replacement of parts. shops that service rolex will cost about ~$300

more importantly is that you trust the technician who is going to service your watch.

includes most of the commonly replaced parts - crown, tube, mainspring (a few hundred bucks if you buy them yourself) as well as a clean and polish ($100?) of case AND bracelet.

you can request for replacement of all spring bars, bracelet screws, etc, at the same time at a cheap cost ($5-$10 for steel parts).

if the warranty was for 1 year then it's not a good deal. 2 year international warranty... not bad. also includes regulation to your satisfaction at RSC.

for watches without original paperwork, the receipt/card serves to add value to your watch. you get a pouch and polishing cloth too...

read my most recent experience in another thread using a local watch shop when parts need replacing - it's a nightmare. i will never do it again. actually, it's not just my most recent experience but most of my experience with "reputable" stores in singapore (i've used almost all of the well-known stores at least once each).

it is my opinion that there are no real watchmakers in singapore, just watch repairers/technicians.
