Reading this makes me wonder if i should really buy another daydate and a solid gold diamond dial daytona.

the biggest problem really is that we only wear one watch at any one time unless we want to be like fidel castro and wear three at one go. But even then, its only three.

buying a Rolex to me has never been about investments becos i hope never to sell my Rolexes.
The only problem now is who to pass them meaningfully to in 30yrs time....

Tag heuer and hublot???? Is this guys serious? Or is he on the take from these brands?

Even if some of the brands retain value well, not all their models do. E.g. He should have specified which specific models hold value better.

But then again I agree this article is crap. Watches should never be regarded as an investment tool.
I don't have enuf watches but I will stop buying now!

watches are terrible investments haha. unless you buy a one in a million pieces for 2 million and let it appreciate. then again, your money is still better parked somewhere else

Agreed.. Unless one is holding on to the extremely rare and truly limited editions, all watches including Rolex and PP (brands that managed to depreciate the slowest) rArely appreciates. In times of recession, lux watches are the first to go.. Watch is only best for emotional investment..

Normally get discontinued limited edition watches but for me i take Lange, Breguet, RM, PP, AP & Rolex. AP PP & Rolex lose less $ but RM lost more. Higher the prices of the watches the harder to sell. The total costs for these watches I calculated that I bought quite amounts to abt 100k as I treasure the watches I bought like my own darlings haha.

Didn't read. But I personally don't think buying watch is an investment.
