  • Do You Feel Ripped Off When Buying Original Straps?

My Milus on a $30 strap.

The original strap leaves no gap between the lugs and strap.

When I had to replace the strap on my Milus, I paid $9xx for the original. I've since left the original strap in the box and have been using a $30 strap. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but a waist belt with much more leather probably wouldn't cost as much, while an original rubber strap costs almost $200.

Original straps absolute rip off... Good quality leather straps can be had for fraction of the price, though I prefer to use original buckles, deployment clasp if possible...

You are not cheapskate, I will do the same. The purchase price for the original leather strap is just too high! AP ones cost more then $900+!! I'm ok with the rubber ones which cost not more then $300, it's washable and last longer too!

Feels good to know that I'm not the only one putting a cheap strap on my watch. Actually, I'm also ok with the rubber ones and even some of the alligator ones costing about $500. But paying $900+ for a strap feels very much being taken for granted leh...

for Straps the worst possible brand could be Breitling. I used to own a Navitimer , I went to Melchers and asked for a blue croc leather strap....I couldnt beleive the price ....$900......com'on I can buy a Seiko for that price :-) walked away and bought a second hand but original strap ...later sold off the watch

900 is too much for a strap.

Max for me is 500+. Which is already high for me.

Most original straps are around 300-500 I think.
