Abraham Lincoln watch was engraved by watchmarker Jonathan Dillions during April 13, 1861. MR Lincoln was not even aware of it. It was engraved behind lincoln watch, read " Fort Sumpter was attracked by the rebels" and " thank God we have a goverment "
Mr Dillions unscrew the dial and marked the historics day on the watch while he is repairing Mr Lincoln's watch.
The American Civil War began when the Confederate troops open fire on Fort Sumpter in South Carolina on April 12, 1861
I wonder our esteem leaders watch got engraving behind their watch during the difficul 50's and 60's ?
