Aiya bro...one could almost says for everything that expensive/luxury or not is relative . By "general perception" (and by my standard too), $20k-$30k watches are definitely luxury lor.

Afterall, how many tuapaoxian do we see here, and how many % of watch lovers here could say $20k-$30k watches is anytime anyday...

By my definition anything above 5K is luxury (especially if it has an EXX movement). No disrespect to the movement manufacturer - just my two cents worth.

Luxury all depend on individual. If u earn more than $150k/annual. $40k is not much. Just like the government saying $200-$400k for 99years or even less for resale lease for HDB is affordable. I personally think any watch more than $15k is luxuary. If u keep dewelling on others definition of luxury, u end up like me heading to the mountain to have peace with yrself. Hahaha

Yup, and in my case, 'luxury' is conditional, too. Well said. Different strokes for different folks.

                          Define "LUXURY".

When the term "Luxury" is applied to the hobby that we currently are in, most naturally the price figures of a watch tells us how "luxury" it can be.

However, when the term "Luxury" is applied to different income group, factor in the costs of major commitment in life... even a $200+ SEIKO/ORIENT/CITIZEN/ALBA/CASIO can become a "Luxury" item to one.

If you don‘t like Rolex, why are you in the Rolex Owners Club?
                                It saddens Rolex lovers.
