Is 10.4k an unreasonable price for a late 2010 IWC Big Pilot that needs polishing?

Bro Wolfeyes...with your solid collection, you might not need to purchase a 10k big pilot lah, but you're welcome to buy it if Bro18k sub doesn't, haha!

But I guess all folks here should know that that such actions of accusing people of selling fake watches because of a deal gone sour should not be tolerated.....

I would say a watch reflects who we would like to be rather than who we might be, and definitely not who we are

True, this is linked to the concept of the extended self/or the ideal self of self-image theory. Good one with the Mike Tyson pic too!

On a side note, where's Bro Nimm12? I would expect him to have a few comments to add...???

Indeed, other bros have shared worse horror stories. I sometimes shudder at how unreasonable some fellow collectors can get.

Just to also update, Bro 18kSub has forgone the Big Pilot 10k offer and has wished me the best of luck in selling, so the offer is now open to other bros who might be keen : )

man I love to really but I've tried BP and it's way too big on my wrist! schmucks everywhere....you'll find a genuine buyer soon.

but funny tho, BP used to move very quickly and they're going for $12k then (well, 2 yrs ago). even at this price you're selling, it seems that the receptivity has reduced nowadays and i'm puzzled.

Hey, no worries. Its a really nice watch but i'm letting it go as I might want to get the older Big Pilot 5002 that had been my original dream watch. Yes, the 5004s used to sell at about $12k or more a couple of years back and even a year ago, it would have been snapped up in a heart-beat at 10k no matter the condition. Perhaps most bros who want a Big Pilot have already gotten it while others are still contemplating due the size, but I reckon the Big Pilot a good 'statement-making' watch without being too loud or too bling.
I've got a couple of viewings arranged over the weekend and next week, so I'm sure a genuine buyer will emerge, not a matter of if but when.
Notice you've gotten a Blancpain 50 fathoms as well, hope you're loving it as I do mine, cheers!

10k is very reasonable for BP. Not for skinny wrist folks like me though.

If I am interested, I would ask $9k plus for IWC big pilot. Reasons-MSRP at $20k plus but can sale to $16-$18k( overlist price by manufacturer). So in second hand market, given worn for more than 2years and require polishing, $9k plus seem fair. Will buy at $10k if newly polish and service, IMO. But still too many cunning watch flippers that out to make a few hundred profit here and endup looking like fool by asking low price and send nasty remark when the seller rejects the counter offer price. These watch flippers are just sissy with no BALLs. And apology to TS if he think I am low BALLing as I am a BALLer.

No offense taken Bro Iceheller, you and everyone else is entitled to make an offer and the seller is entitled to accepting or rejecting. Likewise, I would not hesitate to take a plunge for say an Omega Ploprof at 5k plus or a nice Ball Aviator for a song (i'm sure many bros would too) should there be a willing seller; this invitation to treat-offer-acceptance process forms the basis of commercial law and marketing but the moment negotiations don't go one's way and one resorts to puerile, childish tactics and hurl baseless accusations and insults, it is wrong and worse than low balling.
