    Condo better security,better environment...usually have facilities and more people around.

    Landed...everything you have to pay yourself...higher maintainence in long term compared to condo. If you afford to upkeep...why not? I prefer landed personally...as compared to condo. My dad told me...my old house...the gate costs 10+K to change and the roof something wrong...repair works cost up to 75k

    I dun really interact much with my neighbours..the kids around I dun really know...I prefer quiet place with lesser people. So landed gets my vote. Then again ability to upkeep is an important issue.

      landed lah...big space and you can build up according to the design you want...my friend's place got lift to go to the rooftop jacuzzi and garden plus got small lap pool...

      if you buy condo, try not buy big developments...u need to share the facilities and it's very common you see a lot of families hang their clothes at the balcony or windows...just my opinion only...

        Very simple answer to your question:

        Landed = no share
        Condo = share

        Got $$$ buy condo, got too much $$$ buy landed

          im biased... since ive always stayed in landed (even sg i stay landed until lately where i moved to condo)

          so landed gets my vote. the bigger the land the better

                Which one to get depends on 1st - your budget....

                The budget will then determine the location...

                        Dats the case for your family, buy Townhouse.
                        Best of both worlds.
                        With your budget, should be able to get a good sized relatively new or brand new Townhouse.
                        Comes Landed maybe 2 or 3 storeys, 3+1 or 4+1, with own porch/garden, garage possible.
                        Also have facilities like pool, tennis, sauna, playground etc
                        Shared facilities, shared maintenance.
                        Try Pandan Valley area (not sure abt price there now). Nice!
                        Just my 2 cents from newbie k dun flame ar .....
                        I not Pty Agent. Am also looking so I know bits n pieces...

                              I think you should start first by indentifying the area you would like to stay in.

                              Though $1.5 Mil is a reasonable figure to start with, for a more "prime" or desirable district, a simple 2 storey terrace or at most a smaller corner terrace of about 1,500-2,000 land area suits your budget.

                              I can't afford a landed home with my desired district, land and built-up area so I settled for a penthouse in a more ulu area instead.

                              If not, you would be searching for a needle in a haysack and become very confused and frustrated.
