  • Ministers and MPs - are they subject to Income Taxes too?

    Hi all.

I've heard somewhere that they do not pay taxes on their incomes. Possibly on their property purchases also. Maybe they get a very special tax rebate/deduction due to their leadership status?

Any comment from better-informed bros here? Thanks.

Maybe can go ask your MP...?

I am curious too but won't be too bothered if they are exempted for tax as part of their entitlement. It's just like in a corporate where there are more perks for the big bosses, and some expats get their income tax paid for. And many have said our government is run like a corporate

If income is earned here, taxes apply, thats my understanding.

      No one (should be) excluded.

Does it matter if they pay income tax or any taxes at all. All ruling party MPs can smelly smelly drive a Bugatti veyron. Some idiots keep barking at the minister official pay but they can easily earn more from their various directorships...

I've read somewhere that they are required to pay taxes. The ability to hold external directorships is one perk that I personally find unethical. But that's another topic for another time.
