  • Sell current watch to finance new watch

    Hi guys,

Ok another questions plague my mind.
Would you sell your current watch to finance your new watch.

Like e.g would you consider selling your 1st hand watch after afew years to finance a 2nd hand watch from about the same year?

I understand there are some 2nd hand watch dealers out there who have a buy back scheme.
Would anyone consider such scheme before purchasing from them?

I don't want to comment much on the "buy back" scheme, but let me just put it this way that there is no such thing as money losing business in this world...

I won't as each watch has sentimental value to me.

Yes I will. Especially so when the second watch I am going after is my first 'love' but did not manage to acquire due to certain reason(s). So ended up buying my first watch and pining day and night for the one I have missed. If you don't get it, I'll use a simpler analogy...

I wanted to go after this girl and make her my wife but couldn't because she was having a boyfriend then. So another girl came along and since we hit off rather well, I decided to date her and later we got married. But I have not forgotten that 'first' girl. Years later, I chanced upon my first love and realized that she is unmarried/divorced, and she said she actually liked me. So I divorced my wife and re-married my first love.

            Can understand better?

Don't get me wrong. I was only trying to make it simpler and you should just understand the "wife" to be a watch, not a real person la

Anyway, I'm also not like that. I won't divorce; I'll just take in another !!

Bottomline depends on what the watch means to you.

If it doesnt mean anything, then by all means, upgrade it.
I know a lot of people who do that.
Personally, i buy with the view to keep, not to resell and upgrade.
However its understandable when the love is lost....heh

LOL... Thanks for the enlightenment! Now I understand why we're never satisfied with just one... watch!
