          Buying from Airport

          hello

hi, I'm wondering if you guys have any experience with buying from airport duty free shops ?

I'm looking for a Zenith for the wife. Do you know if their discount will be better than from town ? I did a check at T3 and found that the JLC were are 25 + 7 % discount, abit more if you're ready to plonk down the money. Sincere is at T1 hence I didn't check.

          cheers

            hi bro RL,

buying from airport is not necessarily cheaper. for example, u can get 35% buying JLC from AD using cash inclusive of GST...in airport, u get 25%+7%GST of the selling price (effectively lesser than 32%)...however, u can find some good bargains from other airports sometimes..

            cheers

              Changi Airport Shops

              Hi,

I've done a search but could not find any concrete information on purchasing of watches from our Airport. So, I hope to find out the following:

              1. Is it worth to buy watches from those shops at the Airport?
              2. If yes, any particular brands to look out for?

              Tx.

Saw from previous posts that there is one shop at T3 selling watches at a good price but cannot remember the name liao. That place I think also have quite a lot of watches you normally cannot get outside i.e in demand watches

Think the brand to look out for is IWC.

I think it depends on particular brands and models. I do know of this:

                  1) Ball : NO!

                  2) Longines: YES!

This is based on prices are duty free shops in T2 and T3 departure areas. Others may like to fill in for the rest of the brands.

Based on normal walk in customer price...Airport is better...but of course if u hav some lobang lobang then cheaper to buy from your lobang

Cartier prices at T1 were a lot better too. Well that was based on the last time that I checked. Think the name of the shop is Gassan Watches in T3.

Wonderful info guys! Yes, T3 is Gassan Watches. I was wondering if I can move around the terminals if I check in earlier, so as to shop around, ie from T1 to T3?

I believe the shop is after the immigration counter so you cannot actually go between terminals once you check in.

based on walk in,Gassan Watch @ T3 the price is quite competitive for IWC as I've asked for prices of IWC Top Gun 44mm which they quoted me S$XXXX last night when I'm in airport working.PM me if you wanna know how much I'm quoted.
