I’m an old geezer now and I’ve seen my fair share of different types of people in social gatherings.
In any gatherings, in attendance are people in the “high-class” while some are not.
Some people only THINK they are “high-class” but actually are not.
There are also some people who like to be with the “high-class” group so that they get a chance to act like one.
Some people are influenced to be “high-class” when actually they don’t fit in but don’t realise.
There are some who are actually “high-class” but behave like they’re not.
So it takes all kinds to make this world.
But this forum is not about “class”…it’s about passion & interest in the horology world.
GTGs are organized so that we can interact with one another, at least put a face to your nick.
Cheers!
However, in my dictionary, "class" is not differentiated by one's wealth, but one's behaviour.
So, there can be low-class rich man who acts like gangster, or high-class human who may not be wealthy but live with dignity and behaviour that demand respect.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

i used to cycle in a group of about 10 riders of average speed between 35-40km/h. all riders will be co-operative and take turns to ride @ the front to maintain pace and give those riders who rode in the front a breather. this was done over long distance and weekly rides.
it is common understanding in the group, there are certain rules to follow. everyone chip in to help to ride in front and maintain a steady pace as agreed upon before the ride. after several rides when everyone knows each other better, there is a rider who will ride @ a faster pace when leading the pack. this action made the group split into 2-3 groups @ times because some who have the energy will ride faster while those who dont have enough energy will drop back. after a few rides like that, one rider ask the rider why keep disrupting the rhythm? the response was upping the tempo to test the limit. another rider replied was there is no need to test the limit as we have already agreed the pace which everyone is comfortable with. the rider who up the pace just brushed it off.
after several such rides, some riders had enough and decided to form another group. is this rider a good one? yes he is as he eventually has his group, but no as the group did not last for long as the rest found that it is not what they want in a ride.

I think I should clarify that I don't belong to any group.
I have watches of brand that belong to the Swatch Group, Richemont Group, and LVMH Group, but I would like to remain independent and neutral on the forum.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

I feel so sorry for pagasi. Everytime he took the effort to create or start a good topic for sharing it always end up without accomplishing its intent. Educate or not, rich or not so rich, I think some might have loss their way in the spirit of being a collector or hobbist. Please can we all show some respect to the thread staterer and stick to its intend. For those who have other tot or agenda it would be wise and respectful if you would start your on thread. This incident remind me of my 2 boys who come and tell me it is not him who started it but the other brothers. I'm sharing out of the goodness of my heart and I hope most will appreciate it. I can't convince all but hopefully some.

I simply love my group of ppl, they are not just fun, but they don't act high class. We got top management ppl like CEOs and managing directors, professionals like managers, bankers, engineers, watch private sellers, tram drivers and even a jobless guy in the group, but all treat each other as equal and friends. Cheers to the group n thumbs up.
Anyone that wish to join this group can PM me or SMS or whatsapp me at 912 63 511.
If you want buy watch also can look for me too.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one
